The Music society
"The Hirschegger" was founded in Hirschegg, a village in the Kleinwalsertal in Vorarlberg / Austria
in 1923. A few Hirschegger musicians, already playing in the band of
the neighboring village of Mittelberg formed the core of the new
band. Through ups and downs the band grew and soon was an attraction
at all local events in the Kleinwalsertal and in Vorarlberg.
This will be Hirschegger's third
appearance at the Cape Coral Oktoberfest. They previously
appeared in 1997 and 2004. In 1999 they also
marched in the Steuben-Parade and played at the Oktoberfest at
Dover, New Jersey.
Since 2003 “The Hirscheggers” have
Renato Russo, an Italian music teacher as director. That’s why most
of their trips went to Italy, his homecountry. The music society “ The
Hirschegger” has 40 male and female musicians right now. They play
at local, national and international events and this year they are
back again at our Oktoberfest in Cape Coral.
